AudioTools - dB, Sound & Audio App Reviews

Maybe the best $10 I ever spent

Setting up a listening room and needed a first cut eq. Downloaded this app, ran FFT, adjusted some params to slow down decay, found a pink noise source and looped it while adjusting iTunes equalizer until I got it as flat as possible. Wow, what a difference.

Amazing audio analysis tools

This package of software is a phenomenal set of tools for the amateur or pro, highly recommend !

Fundamental Flaw

The iPhone and iPad microphone or mic in have a low frequency cutoff of 200Hz, making them unsuitable for audio measurements. Maybe you could get around this with a usb sound card.

Not worth $5

I regularly use the JL Audio Tools app. It works great in a pinch. It advertised to me that this "pro version" was half off. I went for it hoping for some new useful tools. I was very disappointed. Most of the interesting tools require expensive in app purchases ($10). There wasnt anything new from what the free JL Audio app offers me. It does include a new sine wave/noise generator, but there are better free apps for that available. I wish I could get my money back. This app is totally useless.

SMART TOOL!!!!

If you want a smart audio helper this app is it!!! I learned about it from Wayne Munn engineer out of the Carolinas and I also got to tell the commodores engineer about it!!!

Great app but upsetting

Its a great app and has many capabilities but for how much you pay for the app you shouldnt have inapp purchases. The pricing is stupid expensive. Overall good app but not worth paying for all the extras

Not for me

Low quality support. No phone number to call. Ignored my emails. I expect a hardware manufacturer to have a number to call. No thanks.

Updated: Fixed-Latest version reboots the phone!

Updated: deleting the app and reinstalling fixed the problem. Back to 4 stars Used to love it. No it wont even start! Fix it folks!

dont upgrade to iOS9 ipad

ios9 totally breaks audio tools 7.8.7 on the iPad mini 2. audio tools works on an iPhone 6 running iOS 9.0.2, but the iPad encounters -decibel levels counting down into the -130 dB range before crashing.

iPhone 6S is laggy

FFT and Smaart Tools especially. Please fix

In-app purchases do not work outside USA

Great app, great tools, regular updates that give you a very good value for your investment

San

I need refund, everyone this is not a good app.

I have been using it for a while...

...but now I have no access to the forum help or the ability to restore my purchases from previous update. I cannot access the FAQ either. Still works but not good enough. I get a window saying I am not connected to the Internet. If this post gets through, than tat window would be false.

Owner of a concert sound system

I think this app is incredible I used to use it everyday. I used almost every feature. However I lost the phone the app was in which I paid $59.99 for at the time, but its not available to me in my purchased apps without paying for it again. At least the price went down but Im not doing it again out of principle.

Pro Tools

As a Professional audio engineer this app is wonderful when I need a quick and accurate RTA. Dont be stupid and get the Smaart upgrade its worth it. Since I always have my phone with me having an accurate measurement tool is only a few clicks away A+

Great product

The only complaint I have is the latest update wont install correctly. Ive used audio tools in live venues for several years and it has always helped me get a more accurate mix

Not Updatable

Every time I try to update, it finishes and reverts back to showing the update button. I installed eight other apps with no problems.

Problem with latest version

Latest version download appears normal, but disappears when trying to open app. Please correct, the app is too good to lose:)

Cant get update to install

I have iPhone 6s Plus IOS 9.2.1 but update wont load. Just tried deleting app and reinstalling nothing and rebooted still wont install. Sounds like nice upgrade but install

Update problem

The latest update screwed up the dB scale on the analog SPL. Reading 10-15 dB too hot on iPhone and WAY too low on the iPad. Need to get this fixed ASAP! 5 stars before this...
